Films to see in 2018
Here’s my initial thoughts on all the films I’m looking forward to this year.
Coco
You just know this is going to be another Disney Pixar hit and that it’s going to fuck up my feelings for three days after.
The Post
I did not know that Nixon was impeached. Did you know that Nixon was impeached? Just one of the many interesting things I have learnt while reading about The Post.
Early Man
I was laughing at the trailer to this in the cinema and my friend asked me, with a look of pure disdain on her face “are you going to go see that?” And that is why we are no longer friends.
Phantom Thread
Daniel Day Lewis hasn’t really been a thing for me up until now, but I am ready for him to become one. I’ve been listening to the soundtrack and I can’t bloody wait.
Fifty Shades Freed
Yes, I am excited for this and yes I probably will go and see it on Valentines day. As my friend said to me the other day, I’m not going to see it for the sex, I’m going to see it for the love.
Red Sparrow
Jennifer Lawrence has been in shitty films since Silver Linings Playbook, fingers crossed she makes a good come back here.
Black Panther
My most anticipated film, everything from the costumes to the action looks incredible. So excited.
A Wrinkle in Time
A stellar, s t e l l a r cast. I would watch anything with these three ladies in.
Proud Mary
Taraji P. Henson deserves everything she touches to turn to gold. On the basis of the poster alone, this film deserves our attention.
Avengers: Infinity War
Can’t wait for Thanos to get his purple ass kicked.
Solo: A Star Wars Story
Please be good. Please be good. Please be good.
Oceans 8
Sandra Bullock? Rhianna??? I’m there.
Incredibles 2
This comes out the year I’m doing a module at university on the history of animation. Coincidence? I think not!
Mama Mia: Here We Go Again
Are there going to be songs? All the good ones are gone. Nothing will ever top Meryl’s performance of the Winner Takes It All. Cher is going to be in it though so…that’s me sold.
Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindleward
One thing I’m not looking forward to is seeing Johnny Depp’s smug, jowly face. Get it together JK.
